Academics at Valley Lutheran
Valley Lutheran has a tradition of strong academics in a college preparatory curriculum. The goal of our academics is to prepare all students for success at the college of their choosing. Our history of excellent test scores demonstrates our commitment to providing VLHS students with the academic experience they will need to enjoy success after high school.

Valley Lutheran has been approved by the College Board to offer Advanced Placement classes. Students who successfully complete an Advance Placement exam may earn college credit for that class. Current Advance Placement offerings include: AP English Literature, AP U.S. History, AP Biology, AP Government, AP Calculus AB.

We also offer dual enrollment classes, allowing students to earn college credit for work completed on campus during high school, through Concordia University, Nebraska. Current dual enrollment offerings include AP Caluculus AB.

As part of our commitment to academics Valley Lutheran is committed to small class sizes, which provide individual attention for all students. Our student to teacher ratio is 10:1, with an average class size of 14 students.

Valley Lutheran is also focused on moving forward and being on the cutting edge of educational technology. One aspect of this is our 1:1 iPad initiative. Every student is provided with an iPad, and its use is integrated into every part of the curriculum.

As part of our desire to serve the educational needs of the community, Valley Lutheran is a participant in the Canyon Christian School Consortium. CCSC is an alliance participant program with goals to reduce the overall cost of private Christian education, increase enrollment for faith-based high schools and offer significant incentives to encourage Christian high school students to enroll at GCU.
