Graduation Requirements

All Valley Lutheran High School graduates are required to complete the following minimum requirements for Graduation:

Theology 4 units
English 4 units
Social Studies 3 1/2 units
Mathematics

4 units
All students must successfully pass Algebra II

Science

3 units
One (1) unit must be Biology

Foreign Language 2 units
Physical Education 1 unit
Health 1/2 unit
Computers 1 unit
Fine Arts 1 unit
Freshman Seminar 1/2 unit
Communications 1/2 unit
Electives 3 1/2 units
Total 28 units

These requirements represent the minimum requirements for a Valley Lutheran High School diploma. Students planning to attend a four-year university after high school are strongly encouraged to exceed these requirements, especially in areas of Mathematics, Science, and Foreign Language.

Standardized Testing
Freshman take a placement test before school starts and EXPLORE in October
Sophomores take the PLAN in October
Juniors take the PSAT
Seniors take ACT and SAT in preparation for college acceptance (not given at VLHS)
