He is Risen! Can you imagine being the disciples on the first Easter? The shock and confusion must have overwhelmed them. Yet, it shouldn't have come as a surprise.  Jesus told them exactly what was going to happen. They had all seen Jesus raise people from the dead, restore sight to the blind, help the lame to walk and feed the thousands.

Go back in your own mind to a time when you were devastated, sad and filled with grief. Maybe it was the loss of a parent, other family member or a close friend. During those first days of grief I don't think too many of us are thinking clearly. The disciples had just lost Jesus, the person they had been following for three years. Judas betrayed him and then killed himself, and the Jewish authorities seemed to be getting their way.

Suddenly Jesus appears to them. Now picture a time in your life when you were most at peace. This can't even compare to how the disciples must have felt when they saw Jesus. An overwhelming peace. Knowing everything is going to be ok, everything is just as Jesus said it would be. Jesus has Risen indeed! Hallelujah!
