Drama is something I never was involved in during high school. I see our performers rehearsing during lunch every day and after school, and I recognize the amount of time and effort that goes into these productions. In talking with different directors over the years, there seems to be a common thread of anxiety leading up to the performance. The hope is it comes together as planned and everyone remembers their lines, has great timing and delivers a performance that engages and entertains the audience. There are a lot of moving parts that need to come together in the end to make it all go as planned.
I am so thankful we have a director who is patient with us as we forget our lines. We miss our cues and He gently reminds us where we are supposed to be. Sometimes we want to play a different role but He shows us how our role is important. He has a plan and knows it will all come together in the end. We have a God who is sovereign and has a plan for each of us. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." God is not only the director, but also the writer and the producer. It all works so much better when we follow His script.
