There are times that show you exactly why you do what you do. This week has been an example of this for us at Valley Lutheran. Many of you know we lost a student in a tragic accident Monday morning. As Keshawn was walking to catch his bus to come to school he was hit by a car and died as a result of this accident.
As we shared the news with the students we were also able to share the gospel message of Jesus Christ. While we will grieve for a long time over the loss of Keshawn, we mourn with the hope of salvation. Jesus tells us in John 11:25, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.” We know Keshawn is in the loving arms of his Savior. We know God is faithful to His promises.
Matthew 28:20 comforts us with these words, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” While we walk through this together we know God is with us every step of the way. He promises to never leave us alone. When we lose someone we love we feel this tremendous loss and at times feel empty and alone. But we know we are not; God is there in the hard times.
This is why Valley Lutheran exists. Because we can share the gospel message with a young man and he can grow in his faith. We are here to walk with students and families through their time of grief. We are here to be the hands and feet of Christ to those in need. We call on you, as the family of Valley Lutheran, to show the love of Christ to all of those around you each and every chance you get.
